This weekend the Super Bowl was in MN for the first time since 1992. So exciting for us to have the big game in our home state. It would have been even better if the Vikings could have played the Super Bowl in their own stadium, or ever in my lifetime, in any stadium. Maybe next year. So, once again, the Super Bowl is a fun Sunday evening of eating, spending time with friends, watching commercials and deciding (usually during the game for me) who you want to win.
The kids enjoyed the cupcakes we found at Walmart with Superbowl rings as decorations. We also had lots of other good food and snacks to eat during the game. I'm glad the Eagles won, they haven't ever won and New England has won enough times for now.
The weather has been pretty typical for MN winter: cold, snow, wind. Some days are nicer than others, we even had temps in the low 40s not too long ago, it gave us a nice break from the cold. Our snow all melted that warm day and we needed more to cover all the ice that the melting snow left. It snowed most of the day Saturday so we got a good amount for the kids to play in. This week is pretty cold again. The kids can't play outside at school if the temp or windchill is below zero so they ask most mornings what the temperature is. All the new snow is pretty fun to play in at school. I have a pretty bad attitude about the cold so I'm glad the kids have snow to enjoy. We didn't get enough that it was hard for me to get to work or get the kids to school and our house is nice and warm so I shouldn't complain. Eric's job is a lot more stressful when it snows because he drives truck, at least I get to stay inside all day! Just another month/month and a half or so with the possibility of sub-zero temps and it will be spring!
