We have kept in contact with a few friends from ND days and it is always exciting when we have the chance to see some of them. One family recently finished the adoption process for a set of twin girls they have been caring for through the foster system for the past three years. The whole family was coming to spend some time in MN and we were able to get together with them a couple times. The most exciting, for the kids, was the trip to the zoo.
It has been about two years since our last visit to the zoo and it is more fun each time. The kids are better at finding hidden animals and can spend more time walking. Last time I rented a stroller but we didn't need to this time.
The zoo is always more fun if the animals are active and so many were this time. The polar bear was swimming back and forth in his pool, right past the observation window, everyone got an up-close look at him. The Dahl sheep were running around up and down the pile of rocks in their yard.
Monkeys were swinging and running around in their enclosure. We even spotted a baby Chimpanzee hanging onto his mother! Grace saw her favorite animal, the giraffe, and they even got to climb on some sculptures.
It was so nice to be able to see our friends and spend a beautiful day at the zoo.
