More baby cows

Slowly but surly we are turning this into a cattle farm.  We have eleven calves right now, five heifers and six bull calves.

The kids love helping take care of them. They make sure they are around when it is time to mix milk replacer, everyone wants a turn mixing.

We recently exchanged three heifers for three more smaller ones and a bull calf.  The new calves are always my favorites, they are so sweet and friendly.  The younger they are when we get them, the more they bond to me.  Since most of our calves are being raised for beef, I told the kids we don't need to name them all.  We are keeping the black heifers so they are all named.  So far we have: Easter, Fuzzy and Susie.  Baby Susie is picture below.

Now all they need to do is eat and grow!
