Another Day, Another 9 Hour Drive

We made the trek back to the hometown again at the beginning of October.  It was a pretty fast ten days.  The kids made the rounds of aunts and uncles and grandparents.  We tried to squeeze in as much visiting as we could.

Eric's niece had a home volleyball game while we were around so the kids and I went to watch.  Although JJ is a little young for such a thing he loves watching balls so much that he sat through most of it with almost no fuss!

We celebrated Sweet Cheeks birthday while we were back.  He had fun opening presents and playing with cousins.  The consensus seems to be that tractors and farm equipment are the biggest hit.  He put on his new tractor hat and got right down to farm work.  He is three now so grandma asked if he could stay with her and grandpa at the farm. So my little boy has been there without us for two and a half weeks.  Darling Girl has asked for him several times a day this week.  I know he is having so much fun though, he loves nothing more than spending time at the farm with the possibility of driving a tractor.

Since we usually stay with my parents on the way down we had a birthday party there too.  I'm glad we are able to see so much family when we make it back.  I feel like the trips are more worth it when we can get a lot done.  Now that my parent's have a place along the interstate we can see them, one brother and one of my sisters.  The other day as we were discussing the next trip coming up, Eric and I laughed together about how we used to think the three hour drive to my parent's was such a long trip!

  1. Yes those birthday parties for grandbabes are the most fun! Micah is having a ball spending time between our farms and Rena's farm ... he spent this morning helping cuz Tyler feed their animals and they took him to DQ for lunch! Tyler gave him a quarter for helping ... he thought that was special. He is so easy going and fun to have around ... we will miss him ... see you 11/3!
