You know, a sister of mine thinks it's so great that her two year old boy can cook. That's not so great, my six month old can cook just as well, nay better. Come along with us and see how well a little girl can cook. Last week Grace made a batch of Christmas sugar cookies for the church Christmas program.
First Grace mixed up the sugar and butter.
Next she added in the flour and other dry ingredents. (She let me hold the bowl for the picture)

Now the dough has to chill in the fridge for a while.
Have you ever seen Jackson helping wash the dishes? Grace was quite good at it, she hates a messy kitchen. Good thing we have tall chairs so she can reach the sink!

After the dough had chilled and we cleaned up some of the dishes it was time to roll out the cookies. Grace liked the star and the Christmas tree the best, she made a lot of them. She did a good job getting all the dough rolled out, cut and in the oven before it got too warm to use.

Look, delicious sugar cookies fresh from the oven. That's right, Grace's first baking adventure and she didn't even burn the cookies. Don't they look good? They sure smelled good!

Grace was a little tired from all that hard work so I frosted the cookies while she took a nap. There are no pictures of the frosted product because since Grace did not do it I didn't feel that it would be true to the post to show something that I did for her.
Thank you for coming along on Grace's first cooking adventure. We hope to be able to do it again sometime soon!
Hahah!! This is hilarious!!
ReplyDeleteI laughed so hard I almost peed my pants! Jackson is on a baking hiatus as I don't have any batteries for my camera. Have no fear, he will be back to challenge Gracie's prowess in the kitchen. Maybe Remy will show us some award winning recipes too!
